"I knew little about the Essex Carp Syndicates, until I met up with Mitch at an annual carp show in 2016. He invited me along for a look see, and to be honest I nearly bit his hand off at the elbow when he offered me a ticket a few weeks later. My first taste of what Essex carp syndicates had to offer was The Rise, and on my first morning there I landed a cracking 23lb mirror. It was a great start. Unfortunately, I was getting very ill at the time, and this would be my one and only visit to the incredible lake. I did become familiar with the stock of the lake, something which ensured I will definitely return one day.

However, I did have the pleasure of visiting and fishing the Mill and the Sanctuary a couple of times before I was completely taken off the road. The lakes have been so well maintained, and the swims are situated to avoid any interference from other anglers. The great thing was, I landed some fish from there too…. Much of my fishing revolves around what the fish look like, more than what they weigh. But the Essex Syndicates caters for all of our wishes. Perfect carp from perfect surroundings, what more could anyone ask for? As soon as I am well enough, I shall be pointing my van eastwards towards this remarkable fisheries …. and I really can’t wait to get started all over again!"
